A CYCLIST was punched in the face by a pedestrian after the two collided on Dunchurch Road.

The attack happened around midday on Saturday April 20 as the cyclist was heading towards town along the cycle path which runs alongside the pavement.

As he approached the church, he tried to avoid a man who was walking along the cycle path, but they collided.

The man then became verbally abusive and hit the cyclist in the face before continuing to walk away from town.

The cyclist suffered bruising to his nose and face in the attack.

Police have described his attacked as a white man in his late teens, approximately 5ft 6in tall, with a thin build and blonde or ginger cropped hair. He was wearing a navy blue long-sleeved sweater and dark trousers.
