NATIONAL pride was on full show as Rugby celebrated St George's Day.

The biggest celebrations to date for England's patron saint saw crowds gather in the town centre for fun and games including jousting, dancing and a motorbike display.

People could also dress up in suits of armour, meet birds of prey, try their hand at traditional crafts and have their faces painted. Live music, a jester and a Punch and Judy show provided the entertainment.

The day of patriotic fun on Saturday (April 20) was organised by Rugby First to mark St George's Day.

Observer photographer Neville Collins was there taking shots of all the action.
