Hi: 17° Lo:12° 7 day
BARBY were forced to settle for a Warwickshire League Division One losing draw from their trip to Pak Shaheen on Saturday.
Having been asked to bowl first, Barby made a bright start as Will Sinclair picked up two early scalps on his way to final figures of 3-43.
Barby were right in the contest having reduced the hosts to 102-5 but Qamer Zaman (67) and Vishal Bora (74) soon set about the bowling and helped push the final total to 263-9.
Tom Gleghorn (3-74) and Bikram Singh (3-80) accounted for the other wickets to fall.
Openers Joel Gleghorn (38) and Loz Mead (39) got Barby's reply off to a fine start but the introduction of Sibby Ullah (5-28) and Sultan Mahmood (2-34) put Pak Shaheen in control.
Barby had moved on to 150-7 when heavy rain forced an early end to proceedings with six overs being lost.
A POOR batting display saw the 2nds lose by nine wickets at home against Bedworth.
Only Andy Thorne (41) and Tom Middleton (41) offered any resistance as Barby were dismissed for just 102.
With the threat of rain in the air, Bedworth set about knocking off the runs quickly and they did so with Spacey (58no) and Edgar (36) taking them to 105-1.
THE Sunday XI also tasted defeat when falling to a 36-run defeat at Warwick University.
Thanks to significant contributions from R. Lamb (78) and C. Lamb (65), Warwick posted 222-7 first up despite Saeed (3), Nigel Hancock, Joe Hardbattle and Loz Mead taking wickets.
Barby were in instant trouble at 3-3 in reply but Hancock (49) and Rob Field 85 steadied the ship and seemed to be guiding their side to victory.
Warwick proved sharper in the field than Barby though and managed to hold on to their catches to restrict the visitors to 186-9 at the close.
