THE successful Lewis siblings enjoyed further success when competing in the RS Tera Sport, Tera Pro and Feva World Championships.
The trio, from Clifton upon Dunsmore, have enjoyed a productive year so far and they continued their form against competitors from all over the world, despite being younger than a number of their rivals.
Taking place at the Olympic venue of Weymouth and Portland SC, the RS Tera Sport World Championship attracted 72 sailors from seven different countries.
Jack Lewis performed brilliantly to keep himself right at the forefront of the competition, eventually finishing second with two victories out of ten races. Victory went to South African Georgou Divaris who is three years older than Jack.
Daniel Lewis and Rebecca Lewis competed in the RS Tera Pro World Championships which were held at the same time, 51 competitors in total took part.
Having won one of the races, Daniel finished fifth overall but again, the sailors to finish ahead of him were three or four years his senior.
Rebecca made a bright start but then had a few issues to overcome before finishing as the second girl home.
The RS Feva Worlds, which took place in Italy, saw 170 boats split into gold, silver and bronze fleets after they all sailed six qualifying races.
Rebecca teamed up with Immi whilst Daniel partnered Elliott in the gold fleet, whilst Jack and his helm Billy Vennis-Ozanne were placed in the silver fleet having only been out in the Feva once before.
Variable winds made for competition sailing and Daniel and Elliott, who have only been together for nine months, finished 25th whilst Rebecca and Immi were 11 places behind.
Jack and Billy finished 58th out of the 170 starters, enough to see them win the silver fleet.
The family would like to thank sponsors Vision Express, Optimum Time and Crewsaver.
Next year’s RS Tera Worlds will take place in South Africa and the family would like to get a sponsor on board to help them get there.
