TEN happy years of town centre trading - and counting!

Organic produce shop Wild and Free has celebrated a decade of business with a day of chocolate tasting and a special visitor, the Mayor of Rugby.

After opening its doors in Railway Terrace in 2003, the family-owned business has gone from strength to strength, and in 2012 moved to its new home in Bank Street.

Company director Steve Prime said: “We are delighted to have been in business for 10 years and would like to thank all our customers for their continued support.

"One of the reasons the business has survived and been successful is that we have always listened to our customers and done our best to accommodate their requests.”

Mayor Tony Gillias, joining in the celebrations on Saturday, September 21, said: "The success of Wild and Free shows what can happen when you have a passion for your business and a commitment to customer service.

"A decade in business is a real milestone and cause for celebration, and I'm sure Wild and Free will enjoy continued success in the future."

Coun Gillias, who has made supporting small businesses the theme of his Mayoral year, added that he was delighted to visit.

Owner Steve Prime has developed an extensive network of local, registered organic growers, who supply his store with fresh fruit and vegetables, while the shop also stocks a wide range of whole foods, groceries, and specialist vegan and vegetarian products.

Steve also sources all the shop’s meat and poultry from Jason's Organic Butchers, based at Cotesbach Hall.

In addition to a delivery service, Wild and Free also offers online shopping via its website at www.wildandfree.net.

Throughout the month Wild and Free has held free taster sessions on Saturdays, and takes part in the Rugby Food and Drink Festival's food fayres, which start today (Thursday September 26).
