LAW firm Brethertons has been shortlisted at one of the most prestigious awards ceremonies in the legal calendar

The firm - which has three offices in Rugby on Church Street, Regent Street and the Robbins Building on Albert Street - is up for an award at the Law Society Excellence Awards 2013.

The Excellence Awards reward the most outstanding practitioners in the legal profession and are open to the entire sector, not just solicitors.

This year, the seventh time they have been handed out, attracted a record number of entries from firms across England and Wales.

Brethertons will find out if it has won the Lexcel Award for Excellence in Practice Management on October 22 at the Park Plaza Hotel in London.

Nicholas Fluck, president of the Law Society, said: “The standards this year have been exceptionally high and I know the judges had a mammoth task on their hands in choosing who to shortlist.

“But the shortlisted entries are those who are breaking new ground, showing innovation and who are outstanding representatives of the legal profession.

“It is heartening to see the legal sector showing no signs of complacency during economic turbulence and a changing legal landscape.”
