Woman's body found in Rugby town centre

A BODY was discovered in the early hours of this morning (Thursday October 17).

Police are appealing for information after the woman's body was found by a member of the public at the junction of James Street and Albert Street at about 12.15am.

The area around the scene is currently cordoned off to allow officers to conduct an investigation. The roads are expected to be re-opened later this morning.

Officers are appealing for information from anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area last night or in the early hours of this morning, or from anyone who may have information which would help them with their inquiries.

Anyone with information is asked to call Warwickshire Police on 101.
