LITTLE stars from Eastlands Primary School are treading the red carpet tomorrow (Friday) and hoping to come home with an award for their anti-cyber-bullying film.

Year five youngsters from the Lansdowne Place school made The Anti-Social Network as part of their work on the dangers of using the internet.

Now it has been shortlisted for the National Youth Film Festival’s One to Watch award, and teachers and pupils will attend the ceremony tomorrow in London’s Leicester Square.

Head teacher Jo Corrigan said: “It is set to be a very exciting day for the young people.

“We’re fairly unique as a school in terms of the e-safety education we provide for our children. I think they have learned an incredible amount.

“The prize money would pay for the resources to be published and shared, which in turn will make the children of the present and future safe while using the internet. We would love to visit other schools to share our resources.”

The film, which aims to raise children’s awareness of e-safety and to help educate parents, was shot at the Old Warwick Courts and follows the trial of a boy who is accused of cyber-bullying.

Entries were shortlisted by an industry panel.
