BILTON Grange secured netball success when travelling to Sedbergh School in the Yorkshire Dales for their annual inter-school netball tournament.
Having taken two teams, the 2nds opened with a 7-1 victory against Sedbergh B with Izzy Baker and Maria Rodko impressing.
The 1sts then came up against the 2nds and victory went to the former after an exciting contest. The 1sts went on to win all of their subsequent games but the unfortunately for the 2nds they were not so lucky.
That meant the 1sts came up against Sedbergh A in the final game which they won 8-6 to take the title, Izzy Das Gupta’s late penalty shot proving crucial.
Bilton Grange went away from the tournament with four shields and medals - Best Attacking team, having scored the most goals; best defensive team, having let the least goals in; tournament winners and best player of the tournament - who was Lily Simpson.
Michelle Murray, Head of Girls’ Games at Bilton Grange, said: “I could not have been more proud of all 17 girls. They were unbelievably well behaved, played their hearts out and were great fun to be with. Well done.”
