CRESCENT School youngsters followed in the footsteps of rugby legends at Welford Road on Saturday, home of ten-time English champions Leicester Tigers.
After taking their seats amongst the 24,000 crowd to watch the first half of the clash between Tigers and Harlequins, the youngsters undertook a half time lap of honour before having their picture taken with Leicester’s Rob Hawkins.
Teacher Matt Phillips said: “It was a great day. We’ve got quite a lot of pupils who play club rugby and we play tag rugby at school so there is a lot of interest in the sport.
“It’s the first time we’ve done something like this but we are looking to have more of an extracurricular programme of activities from school so it was a great opportunity and we are looking to do it again.”
