THE CHRISTMAS spirit is in full swing and members of a community centre gave their time and effort to lay on a free dinner for disadvantaged or lonely Rugbeians.
The Benn Partnership Centre in Railway Terrace began its preparations this week when volunteers took delivery of donated decorations and funding.
Ian Southcott of Cemex handed over a £600 cheque from Cemex Rugby to help fund the dinner.
And MP Mark Pawsey dropped off crackers, decorations and napkins donated by Bunzl, the company he used to run.
The dinner takes place from 10.30am to 4pm on Christmas Day and will consist of games, films and a three course meal. It is completely free and everyone is welcome.
To book your place, call the BPC before December 18 on between 10.30am and 3.30pm. Numbers are limited so places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
