White Men Can’t Funk’s contribution to the Rugby Music Calendar. Guitarist Andy Walker (left) wants to raise at least £2,500 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital (s)
PLAYERS at St Andrews Rugby Club have bravely bared all for a saucy 2014 calendar in support of the Matt Hampson Foundation.
Proceeds from the calendar’s sale will go to the charity, which helps people with life-changing sports injuries.
The club is inviting other fund-raisers to use its Ashlawn Road facilities as it looks to add to the £7,500 already raised for its chosen charities in the last 18 months.
Chairman David Eaton said: “This charity work is part of our commitment as a community rugby club.
“We have excellent facilities and want them to be used as much as possible for the benefit of the local and wider community.”
Earlier this year, the club hosted a successful ‘Party on the Pitch’ for the Teenage Cancer Trust, and last month there was a sell-out black tie Movember Ball in aid of Prostate cancer and other men’s health issues.

- MUSICIANS across the borough have also produced their own cheeky 2014 calendar.
White Men Can’t Funk guitarist Andy Walker is aiming to raise £2,500 when he runs the London marathon for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
He said: “My family owe a huge debt to the hospital and so I want to raise as much as possible.
“The calender is an excellent example of how people can get together for an amazing cause. It’s been awesome working with the bands, some of whom have been quite far out of their comfort zone!”
As well as Andy’s own band, Go Primitive, MorningStar, Those Amongst Us Are Wolves, Lavondyss, Terror Swarm, The Final Chapter, Speak Brother, Keltik Fish and The Vault nightclub have all taken part.
They cost £5 and are available at Sounds Music shop, and also at The Vault’s Christmas Party on December 21.
Email to get hold of a calendar.
Andy plans to involve as many people as possible in future fund-raising events, such as mountain races, busking, gigs and bike rides.
