A WOMAN accused of starting a fire at her council house home by setting light to her boyfriend’s clothes is to stand trial next year.

Maxine Johnson pleaded not guilty at Warwick Crown Court to arson being reckless whether life was endangered.

It is said the 47-year-old started the fire at her home on Warwick Road in Wolston on May 4.

Johnson, now of Essex Street in Rugby, also pleaded not guilty to assaulting Martin Thomas by beating him on the dame date.

The case was adjourned for trial, which is expected to take place in February next year and to last two days and she was granted bail with conditions of residence at her current address and that she has no contact with any prosecution witness.
