HOUSE-BUILDER Taylor Wimpey has snapped up ten acres of former Alstom land off Leicester Road.
It will build 187 on the plot acquired from St Modwen which is spearheading the regeneration of the area.
Work has also started on the Greene King Hungry Horse pub and a decision is expected soon on the small retail park plan on land off Technology Drive.
Peter Rudd, senior development surveyor at St Modwen, said: "The sale of 10 acres of land by St. Modwen to a major UK PLC housebuilder is further testament to the confidence shown in this mixed use site."
