A PENSIONER has died the day after being hit by a car in Bilton.

Joe Roper was airlifted to University Hospital shortly after 4pm on Monday following the collision with a silver Ford Fiesta, but died on Tuesday morning.

The 81-year-old lived on Blackwood Avenue and was described by his family as "a lovely man he was and he will be dearly missed".

The incident happened near the Tesco Express store on Main Street and police have appealed for witnesses, specifically anyone who was on the number 4 Stagecoach bus which had stopped close by shortly before the collision.

- A 10-year old boy has been airlifted to hospital with stomach and back injuries after falling from his horse at Onley Grounds Equestrian Centre.

It happened at around midday on Sunday.

Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance spokesman Sam Conway said the boy was in a stable condition when he arrived at University Hospital half an hour later.
