FAMOUS faces such as X Factor winners Little Mix are urging people to make every mile count by signing up to this year's Sport Relief.

Running and swimming events take place at Rugby's new Queen's Golden Jubilee Centre, in the village of Marton, Lutterworth Sports Centre and Frolesworth Road Recreation Ground in Broughton Astley over the weekend of March 21 to 23.

In 2012 events across the Midlands contributed almost £2million to projects helping people living tough lives in the world’s poorest countries and across the UK.

This year's fund-raiser will begin with a live TV appeal on BBC One on Friday, March 21 featuring Del Boy and Rodney in a special Only Fools and Horses Sport Relief sketch.

People who sign up to walk, jog or run the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile can choose from one three or six mile distances with the swimathon taking place over 1.5km, 2.5km and 5km in individual or team efforts.

For details of how to enter events in this area log onto sportrelief.com.
