CRICKET: BARBY first XI entertained Solihull Municipal is Warwickshire Division 1, trying to build on their positive start to the season.
Barby batted first and found the going very hard with runs following very slowly, the first 20 overs saw the run rate a barely one an over thanks to some tight bowling by Alex Roslyn who in his first 10 overs bowled 9 maidens.
Ali also chipped in with 3-53. Barby did however increase the run rate to reach 139-6 with Tom Gleghorn 31 and Will Sinclair 53 not out being the main contributors to the Barby score.
In reply Mike Parley 48 and Alex Roslyn 53 spearheaded the run chase, their were two wickets for Tom Gleghorn (2-22) and wickets for Matt Johnson and Loz Mead, but Solihull Municipal reached 143-4 with 13 overs to spare.
