FORMER Rugby Triathlon club captain, Keith Edwards takes his triathlon seriously, but this year he has decided to up the stakes and set himself a massive challenge to complete seven triathlons, one after the other, during the London Triathlon weekend (August 2-3).
To complete this challenge Edwards will need to swim five miles, cycle 155 miles and run 33 miles over the two days all in race conditions. He will start the first of four sprint distance races at 7am on Saturday, August 2nd and then complete a further three Olympic distance races on the Sunday.
“I was watching the London Triathlon on TV last year and started to think about a challenge that I could do to raise money for two wonderful charities which are very close to my heart – Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support,” he said.
“100 per cent of the £10,000 I aim to raise will be split between the two charities.
“With just over two weeks left until race day, I’m starting to get worried, but know that with the help and support of my family and friends I will achieve this challenge.”
Anyone who would like to support Keith and his chosen charities can do so by going to his fundraising page http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/KeithEdwards3
