AN OUT-OF-SORTS Rugby Town played out an entertaining draw 2-2 with St Ives Town at Butlin Road on Saturday.

Town were hoping to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat at Barton Rovers last Tuesday and were twice pegged back by the Saints as Rugby's struggles in their league campaign continued.

David Kolodynski followed in on Sam Youngs' shot which had hit the post to give the hosts an early lead after good wing play by Lewis McBride.

Rugby were seemingly in control of the first half until a blunder by ex-St Ives goalkeeper Nick Bennion gifted the hosts an equaliser as he spilled a routine high ball allowing Ben Seymour-Shove to tap in from close range.

Valley huffed and puffed in the second half without really troubling the visiting keeper until Seb Lake-Gaskin sent a dipping 25-yard shot in the net from McBride's lay-off.

But St Ives got their second equaliser twelve minutes from time as Jordan Lambert rose highest at the far post from a deep free kick to head into the corner.
