CLASSICAL sounds can be heard at Leamington Music winter season.

The ensemble will perform 'Come now, a roundel and a fairy song', a newly devised programme to mark the Bard's birth, which will also feature Clifford Rose, a founder member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, who will recite sonnets and speeches from the plays relating to music.

The season will continue with monthly Tuesday concerts at St Mary’s Church, including The Dufay Collective (November 4), Stile Antico (December 9), She‘Koyokh on National Holocaust Memorial Day (January 27), La Serenissima (February 24) and The Bach Players (March 24).

Leamington-born Edward Dusinberre returns with the world famous Takacs Quartet (November 13), followed by the Zemlinsky Quartet from the Czech Republic (Novembe 28), continuing with a run of British based groups - the Jubilee Quartet (January 30), the Brodsky Quartet (February 20), and the Villiers Quartet (March 20).

Other concerts in the Autumn are given by the winners of the 2014 Leamington Music Prize, the Vickers Bovey Guitar Duo on November 20 and The Mellstock Band, which returns on December17 and 18 to the Lord Leycester Hospital in Warwick to give The Christmas Hearth.

In the New Year, the Music in the Round Sunday afternoon season starts.

The Benyounes String Quartet will perform at the Royal Pump Rooms on January 18, followed by two concerts at the nearby Spa Centre - Emma Johnson and John Lenehan (February 15), and Ensemble 360 on (March 15)

All concerts start at 3pm with a pre-concert talk at 2.10pm.
