A 26-YEAR-OLD man is in a serious condition in hospital after being assaulted on Christmas Eve.
Five people have been arrested on suspicion of assault after police were called to an address on Winfield Street at 6.30am. They arrested four men aged 33, 34, 37 and 46 and a 34-year-old woman.
The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire where he was treated for facial and head injuries. He is in a serious but stable condition.
Officers searched the property on Winfield Street and seized a number of cannabis plants and equipment.
The 34-year-old man has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
The other four were released on conditional bail not to contact the victim.
