TWO men who were arrested after another man was found stabbed and lying on the ground in Newbold Road have been released on bail.

The pair, aged 20 and 21, were arrested after the 26-year-old victim was found shortly after 6am on Saturday (January 14) with serious stab wounds to his arm.

He had to be rushed to hospital for surgery and is described by police as being in a serious but stable condition.

Newbold Road was shut on Saturday while police forensics teams investigated the scene. It re-opened in the afternoon.
