RAISE vital funds for your local hospice while taking in the fresh air, spring flowers and beautiful views – that is the rallying cry of the Myton Hospice.

The Myton Hospices Rugby Race and Fun Run, which takes place on Sunday, March 16 around Draycote Water.

The charity needs to raise over £7.5 million a year to run its services, which include a day hospice in the grounds of St Cross and Rugby Myton at Home which cares for patients who wish to spend their final days at home.

Members of Rugby and Northampton Athletics Club will be helping to host the event.

Last year’s event raised over £20,000 for us and we are hoping to do even better this year.

Race director Bryan Acford said: “We are delighted to be working with Myton again this year and our very experienced team will be marshalling the route and taking care of time keeping.

"We had over 420 runners take part in last year’s event and would like to do even better this time.”

Registration costs £12, or £10 for members of England Athletics. The fee includes a medal, drink and snack upon completion of the race.

There will also be prizes for the fastest racers in each category and prizes for the best-dressed fun runner.

Visit www.mytonhospice.org or call Beth Nicholson on 01926 8388 to sign up.
