Police welcome drug dealer prison sentences

PRISON sentences handed to two men involved in the supply of drugs on the streets of Rugby have been welcomed by police.

The Observer previously reported how Jason Killick, of Wolston, and Brian Wright, of Rugby, were jailed for 13 years and three-and-a-half years, respectively, after being found guilty of conspiring to supply cocaine.

Killick also admitted further charges of conspiring to supply cannabis grown at addresses in Rugby and Coventry, possessing more than two kilos of amphetamine with intent to supply it, concealing £197,000 worth of criminal property and money laundering.

Detective Inspector Mark Davison, of Warwickshire Police, said: "These sentences reflect the seriousness of the offences they had been conducting at a regional level for a number of years and which they have been found guilty of."

Warwick Crown Court heard het conspiracy involved the ordering and collection of cocaine from Oldham and Sheffield to be sold in Rugby.

Evidence showed Killick had been in contact with John Logue as he served a 13 year sentence, given to him in 2012 after a court heard he headed up an organised crime group behind the supply of drugs.
