Famous faces at Stratford Literary Festival Plus

STARS of the small screen will be appearing this Autumn for the Stratford Literary Festival Plus season.

Chat show host and compere Graham Norton will be in conversation at The Courtyard Theatre talking about his memoir The Life and Loves of a He Devil on Friday October 24.

The Irishman has been entertaining audiences and having fun with the world’s biggest stars for nearly 20 years.

He first made his mark as a stand up comedy drag act at the Edinburgh Festival, then went on to appear in Father Ted before coming to host some of the most successful shows in television including So Graham Norton, How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? and The Eurovision Song Contest.

As well as his popular weekly Radio 2 show, he hosts the hugely successful BBC1 chat show The Graham Norton Show.

He has also won just about every award going including seven BAFTAS.

Actress and star of the hit show Miranda, Patricia Hodge has been delighting theatre and TV audiences for many years. She will be talking about her prolific career with Fiona Lindsay at Stratford Artshouse on Thursday October 30 and reflecting on some of her great theatre roles - which have included the works of Shakespeare, Pinter and Miller –

and many films and TV appearances, including Poirot, Waking the Dead, The Life and Loves of a She Devil, Robin of Sherwood and as Margaret Thatcher for the BBC in The Falklands Play.

Alison Steadman, a national favourite of TV, stage and screen since she played Beverley in Abigail's Party in 1977, directed by Mike Leigh, on Sunday November 30.

Since then she has appeared in The Singing Detective, Fat Friends, Secrets and Lives, Life is Sweet, A Private

Function, Shirley Valentine, the neurotic Mrs Bennett in Pride & Prejudice and of course Gavin & Stacey.

She has won an Olivier and National Society of Film Critics Award and has received two BAFTA nominations.

She is currently appearing as Joyce in Boomers on BBC1 and is a mad birdwatcher, and she will be talking about all this with Fiona Lindsay at Stratford Artshouse.
