Hi: 12° Lo:5° 7 day

David Ryding, who died after an incident near the Clock Tower pictured here with his wife Nicola and their daughter Mollie.
A FRESH appeal has been made by police for witnesses to an incident which left a soldier dead last month.
David Ryding, 26, died following an incident near the taxi rank at the Clock Tower in Market Place at approximately 5am on Sunday, July 7.
A 21-year-old Rugby man who was arrested on suspicion of murder remains on conditional police bail pending further enquiries.
But Detective Chief Inspector Ally Wright, who is leading the investigation, said this week: "It's important I fully understand what took place.
"I am certain others who were in the area would have seen and heard what went on.
"However it is possible they might not have understood the severity of what occurred and are unaware that someone died.
"I owe it to the grieving family to provide answers relating to David's death."
Mr Ryding, a married dad of one from Merseryside, was taken by ambulance to University Hospital with a serious head injury and was put on a life support machine.
But he was pronounced dead in the early hours of the following day.
His wife Nicola described him as a true hero and a role model. He was on the Organ Donor Register and helped save three lives.
At the time of his death she said: "He wanted nothing more than to make a difference to the world we live in.
"He served for our country alongside many and I was so proud to call him my husband. He was always trying to better himself to provide a better life for me and our daughter.
"For the future I hope this makes people aware of the devastating consequences of what is an everyday occurrence."
